Episode Synopsis

Send us a textOur passage begins with the righteous remnant in Babylonian captivity crying out to God in prayer. Their cry of prayer results from the word of God as does all prayer. Their prayer is not typical, nor are their circumstances.Their prayer is consistent with the word they just heard. They remind God of His past faithfulness while looking ahead with faith to the promises of God. They don't just look to God's promises, they see His promises as already fulfilled. This is a prayer of great faith.God answers their prayer first with comfort. He then challenges them not to fear man. God reminds them of who He is and who Israel is in relation to Himself. God lets them know that their chastisement will soon come to completion. They are forgiven. Finally, the LORD guarantees' that all their enemies who humiliated them will now be humiliated as Israel enters into the eternal promise of God.What great comfort and application we are able to draw from this passage. God is the same, He has not changed. The faithfulness of God will never fail. His love towards those that belong to him knows no limits. We are living in tremendous days. We are on the precipice of the return of Jesus. Now more than ever we need to stay true to Jesus Christ and His Word.
