Episode Synopsis

Send us a textHere we have set before us a lesson in godly leadership. Much is written about Christian leadership. There are many messages and conferences addressing Christian leadership. But this passage contains a great message that far exceeds all the books and conferences that man is able to compile. We are given a clear contrast between the characters of an ungodly leader and a godly leader. Character is everything in leadership. It is not what we say that reveals our character, it is what we do that reveals our character. The ungodly leader is proud, selfish, obnoxious and abusive. Ungodly leaders ignore the privelege they have been given to serve God and lead His people. They believe that the sheep are there to serve them. Yet Jesus set for us the example. Jesus came to serve, not to be served.I godly leader is first called by God to lead. They are a servant of God first and foremost. One must first be a servant of Jesus before they can lead God's people. God not only calls those to lead but He also fully equips them to fulfill His call. God commits great responsibility to those He calls. But with that responsibility God gives great authority. The authority that godly leaders walk in is determined by the throne they bow the knee to. True godly leaders walk in the authority of heaven because their knee is bowed to the throne of God.In this passage, Eliakim is a picture of Jesus, the ultimate godly leader who is soon to return and set up His kingdom. Of the increase of His government and peace, there will be no end.MaranathaContact Paul at [email protected] Sunday May 5th, we have changed locations and will meet on Sundays at 10 am.
