It’s Calvinistic because the sovereignty, glory, nature, and wonder of God are emphasized. It’s Evangelical because Regeneration, the Word and Doctrines of God, and the Gospel are emphasized. It’s Methodist because Christian sanctification - growing in holiness - is emphasized. All Christians have been justified by God, born-again by the Spirit, and grow in sanctification. All three are true of every Christian. THE WAY has been inspired by the faithful 18th Century Welsh Christians. These Welsh Christians are merely good examples of the primitive early Christian church as shown in the book of Acts for their faith was biblical and active. In fact, we encourage all Christian denominations to return back to their historic roots for it would serve them well to consider their faithful founders/key historic leaders. Consider the Puritan biblical questions and Justification by Faith Statements (Among God's Giants by J.I. Packer): Extracting the Truth: 1) What do these words actually mean? 2) What light do other Scriptures throw on this text? Where and how does it fit in to the total Biblical revelation? Understanding the Truth: 3) What truths does it teach about God, and about man in relation to God? Always pray that the Lord would teach you at least one thing today. 4) How are these truths related to the saving work of Christ, and what light does the Gospel of Christ throw upon them? According to Pastor Derek Prime this is the most important question that is frequently overlooked. He argues “Our people are not fed until they realize His centrality.” Applying the Truth: 5) What experiences do these truths delineate, or explain, or seek to create or cure? For what practical purposes do they stand in Scripture? 6) How do they apply to myself and others in our own actual situation? To what present human condition do they speak, and what are they telling us to believe and do? Justification By Faith Statements: 1) Every man faces the judgement seat of God, and must answer to God for himself. The church cannot shield him from this. 2) Every man is a sinner by nature and practice, a nonconformist so far as God’s Law is concerned, and therefore can only expect God’s wrath and rejection. 3) Justification is God’s judicial act of pardoning the guilty sinner, accepting hime as righteous, and receiving him as a son or daughter. 4) The source of justification is grace, not human effort or initiative. 5) The ground of justification is Christ’s vicarious righteousness and blood-shedding, not our own merit. 6) The means of justification, here and now, is faith in Jesus Christ. 7) The fruit of faith, the evidence of its reality, is manifested repentance and a life of good works. In conclusion, 1) God the Father removes the penalty of sin by justifying the sinner; therefore, everything that's true of Christ is now true of the believer; 2) Christ secures salvation at the cross; and 3) the Holy Spirit removes the pollution of sin.
