We are constantly inundated with a message that begs us to place our hope and trust in things that are doomed to fail us. Despite the temptation to trust in mankind, this broken and fallen world, or the promises of this world, the message of the psalmist is crystal clear: God alone is worthy of our trust. In this psalm, David provides three key reasons why we are called to place our faith in God alone. First, God is true, though all men are liars. Second, God is safe, though times are not. Finally, God is sure, though all else is transient. Yet all alike culminate in the truth that God is who He claims to be, and therefore, we can trust Him.
