As a writer you have expectations of where ideas will take you. But what if the 10k story is really 50k o the 100k is really just 5k long? Our expectations of stories can hit us hard.
And so can the expectations of readers too. It's got to be perfect or else they won't buy it or review it or recommend it.
What do we expect of ourselves before, during, and after the writing process?
What do we expect our rewards to be? Big? Humbler?
