Listen "Working for Frederick County Sheriff's Office"
Episode Synopsis
We recorded our conversation for today's show in person at the Frederick County (VA) Public Safety Building. Joining me to talk about the job openings with the Frederick County Sheriff's Office were Frederick County Sheriff Lenny Millholland, Lt. Warren Gosnell, and Lt. Tracy Kittoe. The group gave me a rundown of the different positions available within the sheriff's office and explained the process that takes place on the path to becoming a deputy. We talked about the rigorous background check, polygraph, mental health evaluations, and attendance in the police academy. Lt. Kittoe (Lt. of Administration) told us what she looks for during the interview process while Lt. Gosnell explained the various departments and duties for deputies. Sheriff Millholland told me about the challenges he faces with competition from surrounding law enforcement agencies and the pay scale that he must stay within. To find more information about the positions that are available and to submit an application, click here. (And tell them Janet sent you <grin>)
