On a brisk April morning bass boats lined up on a North Carolina lake for a fishing tournament; but this fishing tournament is unlike many others. Warriors on the Water is a non-profit organization that exists for the sole purpose as a way to say "thank you" to our men and women in the armed services.
Now in its third year, the annual Blessing of the Bikes has grown and more than eighty-five riders participated this year, more than the last two years combined. Losing a loved one is hard, but losing a loved one to suicide is extremely difficult. Erin Thede, Director, Employer Partnership office, U.S. Army Reserve, shares her story of loss and how she has learned to overcome this tragedy.
Over the last 105 years the Army Reserve has grown from a small group of medical officers into force of over 200,000 soldiers serving the army both at home and abroad. Recently USARC held a ceremony to celebrate this milestone.
USARC non-commissioned officers recently had the opportunity to fly in a Black Hawk helicopter as part of their monthly NCO Professional Development Program. Besides the ride, they participated in an air extraction from Luzon Drop Zone 40 miles southwest of Fort Bragg.
