Episode Synopsis
Once a young boy from a small rural community in Pennsylvania, AC dreamed of being a superhero who could fly or a martial arts master like Snake Eyes from GI Joe.
As he grew up, he found his calling in the U.S. Army, where he spent over 22 years as a Lieutenant Colonel, flying helicopters and leading sneaky, non-kinetic operations. Through his military service, AC learned from and worked with some of the most extraordinary people of his generation.
AC never stopped learning, earning a Ph.D. in Business Management with a Leadership emphasis from Capella University and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Brandman University. He became a Maxwell Leadership Certified Speaker, Coach, and Trainer, an 8th Degree Black Belt in IKCA Kenpo, and a hobbyist/amateur magician.
But, despite all of these accomplishments, AC remained humble, seeing himself as just a scared lobster who found shelter along the path and kept going.
AC's greatest achievement was being a loving husband of 21 years and a father of two amazing kids. His family had lived in nearly a dozen places across the United States, staying together despite multiple tours during the Global War on Terror.
In 2022, AC started his own leadership and management consulting practice, Wiley Leadership Solutions LLC, which provides organizational seminars, personal growth talks, and multi-week deep-dive personal growth journeys. He also joined the Kite and Key consultant team in Evans, GA, offering executive and personal coaching services.
AC recently published his first book, The Lobster's Guide to Herding Penguins: A Practical Guide to Gaining Perspective and Living the Stories Worth Telling, and will soon be a featured author in the second edition of Voices For Leadership, compiled by Brian Brogen.
Through all his experiences and accomplishments, AC remained grounded and grateful, acknowledging that he was a product of many other travelers and their journeys.
