It's Thursday; a day that would eventually be known as Holy Thursday. It's evening; maybe around 7pm. Jesus is gathering around a table with his disciples in the Upper Room to enjoy a Passover Seder; a ritual and ceremonial dinner. They've had this Passover Seder together before. Those who grew up Jewish would have had this same exact ritual dinner every year of their lives. They thought they knew exactly what would happen. It's the same every year...right? Not this year. This year, Jesus changed things up, spoke new words and delivered a different, confusing and scary moment. As we come to worship today, we know exactly how the service will go...right?
