Mike Wallerich is the head coach of the St. Norbert College Baseball team, and someone who has a history with the host, Tony G. Tony G briefly played for Wallerich at SNC in 2018, which played a role in their relationship that started with Wallerich recruiting Tony during his high school days as a player. In this interview, Wallerich discusses his roots at SNC, as he has been a member of the community for around 15 years as a player & coach. Wally recalls memories from his career under Tom Winske, and what he learned from the former head coach that he uses in his coaching style today. Wallerich also talks about the struggles of being a part-time head coach, as well as the most rewarding facets of recently being awarded full-time status over this past winter. Along with a conversation about Mike's coaching style and philosophies, he details what it takes to be a good baseball player at the Division III level. Wally also talks about what motivates him to be the best coach and community member he can be, at St. Norbert College.
