Rest is part of the human experience. We prefer Jesus to be tireless and yet in His humanity he too needed to take a break. When He does finally get to sit down, it doesn’t last long. Curiously His rest is interrupted by yet another conversation with a person in desperate need of hope. Nice to know that Jesus understands the relentlessness of the pace of our lives and invites us to “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
