'Dune' is based on the 1965 novel by Frank Hebert detailing the life of Prince Paul Atreides of Caladan, who in the far future leaves his home planet with his family, led by his father Duke Leto, for the desert planet Arrakis to oversee the refining of the spice Melange, which enhances this spacefaring civilization's ability to navigate the stars. There is trouble on Arrakis, however, and Paul must carefully navigate a web of galactic intrigue if he hopes to fulfill his potential destiny as the promising young leader he was raised to become.
