Listen "Up to the Time with Tessellated"
Episode Synopsis
Chat to me!While many artists are creating fusion sounds, we’re still trying to figure out what the new sound of Jamaican music is called, Tessellated is just creating music with the foundation of sounds he is inspired by. The twenty-something Jamaican producer and artist has built his music on the foundation of Reggae and Dancehall while adding some Jazz, Hip-Hop, R&B elements. Connecting and collaborating with like-minded artists, Tessellated made major waves with “Pine and Ginger”, drumming up over 22 million total streams to date and “I Learnt Some Jazz Today” marched to the top of the Billboard Jazz charts and struck a major sync with Apple for their film ‘Bounce’. In this episode we discuss how he got into music, producing various sounds, his love for the Beatles and the influence of Soundcloud discovery.
