He has written over twenty novels and also served as chief film critic for the Washington Post, where he received the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Distinguished Criticism. Along with his novels, he has published two collections of film criticism and a nonfiction work, American Gunfight. His latest thriller, Game of Snipers, released in July 2019.
