Tonight, on The Sound we journey into the mind of a madman… hehe, just kidding, or am I…? at any rate, we take a deep dive into some of the musical stylings of Professor Patrick Lichty from the Mass Com department at Winona State University. Two different releases from Prof. Lichty have recently surfaced here at KQAL and we thought what better way to make sense of it all than to talk to the man, the myth and the legend himself. And since these are releases from the past, we thought it fitting to bring back a KQAL alumni to get the job done. Former KQAL production assistant Dylan Alzate came out of retirement to dig in and get the scoop, the dirt, the real story on these two releases. What are these mysterious releases I keep mentioning? Good question. They are two distinct albums, one titled Amilith and the other titled 8 Bits or Less. Mr. Alzate and Professor Lichty grapple with the hard questions as they also delight in the joy that is music. But enough of my rambling, let’s hear them ramble about it!
