Much younger than I am today, I would force puzzle 🧩 pieces into places they didn’t belong. In the process, I would wreck the corners of the puzzle piece and almost hinder the beautiful image that comes with finishing this committing (and usual dreadful) task. I wonder if that’s the case today, If I’m (or you) forcing yourself to fit in a puzzle that you use to fit in but no longer belong?
Self-reflection is part of the developmental aspect human growth (at least I would believe so). We reflect in our earlier years and by the Grace of Jesus, we acknowledge our current state. Maybe, we no longer fit because we are no longer the same size of a puzzle 🧩 piece we use to be. Only when we try to force ourselves to fit in (friends,family or work clicks), we hinder ourselves from the growth that Christ is doing in our life (sanctification, obedience and loving Jesus). We suddenly wage war with attempting to stay consistent with our past “persona” and wrestle with the new “creation” God is calling us to be.
We like to live a new life in Christ yet while holding onto the very thing that Christ died for, our sin.
