Listen "Comic Book Love with Raven Smith"
Episode Synopsis
This episode is sponsored by Jordandene. Even though it’s four hours away, Fantom Comics was the first local comic book shop that felt like home to me. Raven Smith was one of the first people I met there, and I’m so glad to talk to her about all things comics! Fantom Comics is a really special place that hosts all kinds of incredible events. They have trivia nights, book clubs, signings, and tons of other themed parties. They even run a kid’s convention once a year! Raven has two really great pieces of advice for new comic readers. One, never be afraid to go into a comic book shop. If anyone there tries to quiz you or makes you feel like you don’t belong, that’s not a shop you want to hang out in anyway. And two, if you’re looking for new comics to read, think about your favorite TV show or movie. That should be a great way for shop owners to recommend a series you might love! If you live in/near or plan to visit the D.C. area, please stop by Fantom Comics at 2010 P St NW, Washington, DC. You can also check them out everywhere online @FantomComics.
