Martyn helped us think through together of how the Holy Spirit is also called 'the Spirit of Jesus', and 'the Spirit of your Father'; so my spirit actually communes with all the Members of the Godhead. Developing individual communion with the Lord isn't easy nowadays, what with the intrusive digital world and the busyness of life's demands - nevertheless, the habit of hearing the knock of Jesus on my heart's door and then surrendering to Him joining me in my spirit over a meal and intimate conversation (Revelation 3:20) is so wonderful.
