Listen "Episode 31: Writing for a living"
Episode Synopsis
Lots of people dream of becoming a professional author. Kerry Fisher published her first novel at 48 and turned the dream into a reality. However, all those words don't appear by magic. Kerry loves bringing her characters to life but she also describes the determination and hard graft required to be a writer. Kerry is a writer grounded in reality both on and off the page, taking inspiration from the problems faced by mid-life women.'I want women to be reading my books and think, I feel heard by you.'We also learn that creating these books is a team effort. Kerry describes the need to trust other people and let editors and publishers bring their expertise to get the finished book over the line.
