Our guest today is Mike Farrell, PhD who does research at the Georgia Tech Research Institute. Mike has done research in microbiology and virology in the private sector, for the government, including the CDC and now in academia. His team seeks to utilize a probiotic E. coli strain to boost the effectiveness of traditional vaccines against influenza, which kills as many as 52,000 people and leads to hundreds of thousands of hospitalizations a year in the United States.
