All-too-often, when communism or socialism are criticized, someone will eventually point out that capitalism isn’t perfect either, and that it should be abolished. Such thinking displays an ignorance of what capitalism actually is, amnd of its tremendous potential for generating more wealth for all. Not that it doesn’t have weaknesses: no system is “perfect” in a world in which people themselves are far from perfect. But if it is properly managed; if its excesses are controlled; if permitted to realize its positive potential, capitalism is the very best system there is for providing prosperity for everyone.
