We’ll learn the definition of a thyroglossal duct cyst (including embryology!), the 3 main presentations, differentials and how to distinguish between these with examination and ultrasound, why we operate on these cysts, contraindications and complications, and of course the surgery, going through patient position, first incision placement, flap creation, resection steps including relevant anatomy, and closure.
