Dr Glenn Guest is an Australian General Surgeon based at Barwon Health, with a special interest in colorectal and minimally invasive surgery.
Having trained in Australia and the UK, Glenn began living and working as a newly graduated surgeon in East Timor, at the time of independence in 2002. He continued his work overseas in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Figi, and has been a critical leader in global disaster relief, including in the 2004 Banda Aceh Tsunami and the Kashmir Earthquake of 2005.
Glenn has convened the Victorian Annual General Scientific and Fellowship Meeting, the International Medical Development Symposium, Geelong Colorectal Nursing Symposiums, the inaugural Management of Surgical Emergencies course (RACS) and has spoken at a number of local and international conferences. He is the director of the RACS / AusAid Surgical Program to East Timor and currently leads Epworth Geelong’s surgical teaching, research and program development. Glenn has a strong passion for teaching and a keen interest in research and has worked extensively in the emerging area of laparoscopic surgery.
