In this episode we welcome the Reverend Doctor Rod Ellis.We look at the greeting, "Hosanna to the son of David. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest." This is the wonderful greeting to Jesus by the crowd and what we've come to call Palm Sunday. It's packed with meaning. And what does Hosanna mean? It could mean a number of things, but it comes from the Psalms known as the hallel Psalms which means praise. And so Hosanna is a declaration of praise. Our Father in Heaven hallowed be your name. Glory to your name. Praise be to you. We come to hallow to Hosanna and glorify God. But it also literally means a cry for help. Come and save us now.
