On this episode of The Nomadic Outdoorsman Dan talks to Ty Runyan, a game warden and lifelong outdoorsman from Oklahoma. Dan and Ty share stories from the field and talk about encounters between outdoorsmen and law enforcement.Ty was raised in southern Oklahoma on cattle ranches. He grew up shed hunting, fishing and working outdoors. He quickly became an avid hunter and fisherman. Ty won 2 national proficiency awards through FFA that really sparked his love for wildlife and conservation. As early as junior high Ty had made the decision that he wanted to pursue a career as an Oklahoma Game Warden. Ty worked for McGee Creek State park while in high school and got his first taste of law enforcement. He then went to Murray State College majoring in wildlife conservation and criminal justice. Ty completed his Oklahoma law enforcement certificate through the collegiate officer program while at Murray State. Shortly after he started working at local police departments while finishing his Bachelor's Degree.
