Six years ago this week I lost my mother. It was a hard and tragic day. But this year, I was able to not focus on the events of that day and instead, remember the amazing woman that she was. She was incredibly beautiful - but didn't know it. She was stronger than any woman I have ever known - but didn't know it. And she LOVED well. Her six grandchildren were the loves of her life. They lit her up from the inside and she made each one of them feel like they were the most special people on this earth. 
A couple of years after she died, I wrote a chapter about that time. I thought I would share it with you here as it is something that we all need to hear. It's hard to share as it highlights the very worst decision I have ever made in my entire life, but the lesson I learned from this life altering mistake is one that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
Thank you, mom, for loving me well. Even when I don't.
