New Episode of The Light!
Last month on March 22nd the Hip Hop community lost an icon and one of its own when Malik Taylor, also known as Phife Dog from A Tribe Called Quest, passed away due to complications from his long term battle with diabetes.
Phife, together with Q-tip, Ali Shaheed Mohammed, and Jarobi helped create the sound of the Golden Era and ushered in an unprecedented level of creativity to the game, garnering millions of fans/heads that could instantly relate to them and their message. Q-tip’s jazz-infused production style laid the perfect canvas for the duo as their music formed the soundtrack of the 90’s and beyond.
Phife will live on forever as a member of Tribe, the perfect counter to Q-tip, and the clever lyricist that became his signature.
