Luke 12:35-44 and 1 Chronicles 29
Theme:
If our days on earth are like a passing shadow (Chronicles), then we should be comfortable giving our gifts away – like David secured for the building of the temple under Solomon. This prayer was a prayer of praise for the generosity of all the people (kind of like what we want to do this day in response to the estimates of giving, regardless of the amount). That way, we will truly have the courage to be ready when the Lord comes (Matthew). That is truly being focused on the future.
