And second, why does John say that he is not Elijah and in other parts of Scripture, Jesus says that John the Baptist was Elijah? Is this is an apparent sign that some prophecies were added later and they happened to miss this one? Or is it a sign that Scripture contradicts itself and is not trustworthy?
