John Anderson was the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia and leader of the National Party from 1999 to 2005. He was a member of the House of Representatives from 1989 to 2007, serving as Minister for Primary Industries & Energy (1996–1998) and Minister for Transport & Regional Development (1998–2005) in the Howard Government. In 2011, Mr Anderson was named an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to the Parliament of Australia.
