“God with us” may be one of the most comforting statements in all of scripture. When we dig further into this statement we realize that when Jesus came and took on flesh He came to do something. That “something” is tied up in what’s known as his “trifold office” of Prophet, Priest, and King. Jesus did not come to just exist among us, but He came to complete a perfect work that can never be undone. This is what it means when we say that He is with us: He’s teaching us, praying for us, ruling us, and ultimately saving us. Perfectly.
