For the season of Advent, Immanuel is departing from the Revised Common Lectionary and following a theme called Words for the Beginning, which is a series of blessings for this season of new beginnings, especially in uncertain and anxious times.  We also began Advent a week early this year to accomodate some events in our congregational life. So, this podcast is for the second Sunday in advent, which was for us December 1, 2024.  The theme for this week is “We Can’t Go It Alone” and the Good Word comes from Ruth 1: 1-19.  This is an unlikely Advent text, but offers a word about what it means to be community in times such as these.
