The National Association of Realtors reports a record high lumber price at $24000 to the price of a new home and this price spike has caused a new single family home to increase for $24,386 since april 17th of 2020. According to the National Association of Home builders similarly the market value of the new multi family home has increased by $8,998 due to the surge of lumber prices. And the latest random links price as of February show the price of framing lumber topped $975 per thousand board feet that is a 180 percent increase since last april. So when you are talking to your realtor and they are saying to lock these prices in so that your builder can commit to the lumber price as it is, they are serious.
