Listen "Remembering Dr. Fulton"
Episode Synopsis
Beginning in the late 1950s, Fultonia’s Health Food and Fasting Center was a local hub for health foods and natural remedies, always buzzing with customers. And while Chicagoans frequented the store for freshly prepared meals and alternative medicine, notable figures from all over the country—politicians, musicians, activists, actors, and athletes alike—came to the shop to hear the sagely wisdom of its proprietor, Dr. Alvenia Moody Fulton. A world-renowned nutritionist and naturopath, Fulton was humble in appearance and demeanor. Listen to Dr. Eileen Silva’s account about Dr. Fulton’s contribution and her store.
