Episode Synopsis

Debbie Watkins has lived in Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Singapore over the past 20 years, and worked in 30 additional countries throughout Africa and Asia. Her focus for this entire period has been technology-enabled inclusive finance - mobile products and services, business and strategy consulting and management - building multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams in a number of countries. She is now the CEO and co-founder of Lucy– a mobile banking and business-building services app built to help entrepreneurial women who are overlooked, underestimated, and underbanked become unstoppable.
In this talk, Debbie tells her amazing story of how she has learned what women in smaller and emerging countries need - education, access to finance, and a safe space to pull themselves out of poverty and into economic growth and prosperity.
