In this episode,I speak to the founder and CEO of Bonita Fierce Candles, Melissa Gallardo. Melissa shares her journey of launching a candle brand that celebrates Latine Culture and Heritage. She talks about how she turned her hobby into a full-time business, the lessons she’s learned along the way, and the support she’s had and the investments she’s made that helped her get here. Melissa talks about how some of the oppressive structures in corporate, such as not having health insurance as a contracted employee, led to this pivot and to creating the life she wants to live for herself.
