Listen "027: Chris Ruano, Leadership & Fitness From a Fire Captain who started out on a Hotshot Crew, worked as a Firefighter and Engineer in the Station & then became a Crew Supervisor in Wildland Firefighting."
Episode Synopsis
In this episode we talk with Chris Ruano about fitness, leadership and fatherhood. Chris has been in the fire service for 24 years, starting out as a member of a hotshot crew, getting hired as a municipal firefighter, doing that for ten years and then getting back into the wildland firefighting world. He has spent the last ten years in wildland firefighting and during that time he developed his own fitness programing to help keep him and other firefighters in shape to be able to effectively do their jobs while also reducing injury and staying fit and healthy long term. We talk to Chris about the thought process behind his fitness program, how he has navigated leadership from inmates working as wildland camp crews to the guys working in the stations and some of the things he is doing with his sons to help develop them into men. Chris is a well respected Captain now and he came highly recommended as a guest by some of you, our listeners. Check out Chris's fitness programing in the links below.
