It's often very difficult to understand foreign accents.  Even if you both grew up speaking the same language, the accent alone can make it impossible to communicate.  Even harder is when you're under a conservatorship and have to sign an NDA before you say anything.  That one is significantly rarer, thankfully.  The trick is to not become rich and famous.  It's easier than it sounds.
