Dr. David Friedman is an an expert coach, with over 15 years experience training athletes at all levels, and holds a Doctorate in Health Science (DHSc) and a Masters in exercise science. Along with professional certifications from the American College and National Academy of Sports medicine. He has extensive knowledge in running mechanics, kinesiology, exercise physiology, sport psychology, and nutrition. He also happens to be an experienced triathlete, having completed several triathlons, including an Ironman. (he mentions running 12 in a year!) David has a very genuine passion for coaching and firmly believes the guidance he gives to each of his clients should be supported by science. In this episode we get into the scientific studies and his own research on the benefits of complex training for long distance running . More specifically, How it enhances muscular endurance resulting in improved running economy, how it can be implemented into your own routine and how its ultimately a more efficient way to train for an event like a triathlon or marathon.
