Listen "2 Jonah’s Prayer"
Episode Synopsis
Click for Sermon Notes
Jonah had to make a decision, I'm going to go as far away as I can and then he had to make a decision to buy boat passage and put the money in the captain's hand, and then he had to walk the plank to get up on the boat, and then he had to watch the plank removed and he had to watch it sail away. All these decisions and you know the Holy Spirit of God was working on him.
Have you ever done that? The Holy Spirit's working trying to tell you something, it's like you know I can't hear you; I can't hear you. Well, that's where Jonah was and so he travels 2,500
miles away and unfortunately, he discovered what most of us discover when we're trying to run from God. You can run from him, but you can't hide because God is everywhere and so God allowed a storm and created this storm that eventually led to Jonah being thrown overboard and to what he thought would be his death. I can only imagine the thoughts that must have been swirling through his mind as he was swirling in the waters. We don't know a lot about Jonah.
