On the show, hear Dr Dan Danahar, from Dorothy Stringer School, talking about the Big Nature Conference 2010 on Wednesday 10 November 2010 at Dorothy Stringer High School, Brighton. This conference is free to attend for all. The Big Nature Conference 2010 celebrates the International Year of Biodiversity and highlights the importance of biodiversity to people in Brighton & Hove.  It also aims to show how people, acting locally, can make - and have made - a real difference to the conservation of biodiversity for future generations. From global to local - The conference will explain the impact of global biodiversity loss on Brighton & Hove. It will celebrate local action towards the International Year of Biodiversity and will highlight the wide range of local activities related to nature conservation. The conference will inform and inspire local people to become involved
The conference will inform Brighton & Hove’s bid to become a Biosphere Reserve. Confirmed speakers include Andrew Balmford, Professor of Conservation Science at the University of Cambridge, Bob Bloomfield, the Natural History Museum's Head of Innovation and Tony Whitbread of the Sussex Wildlife Trust
And also on the show this week, hear Andy Mead, Managing Director of Fifefly Solar, talking about this local community interest company, winners of the Sussex Eco Awards; Green Business of 2010.
