The EDGExperience host,  Kimberly Wright-White, continues her exploration of youth basketball and what's needed to improve outcomes for urban youth involved in the sport. She speaks with outstanding student-athletes from St. John Vianney, Newark Science Park, Ramapo, and Newark West Side High Schools. Conversations are also conducted with parents, Coach Akbar Cook of Newark West Side High School, and Coach Tarik Brown of Science Park High School. Together, they tackle problems and possible solutions in NCAA and NJSIAA rules, the future of urban youth basketball, shifts caused by COVID-19, academic gaps, sportsmanship, and transition assistance to colleges for student-athletes.
