Listen "4/22/21 The Murder of Sarah Halimi: Interview with Yonathan Arfi, VP of CRIF, the umbrella group of France's 74 Jewish Organizations"
Episode Synopsis
4/22/21 Interview with Yonathan Arfi, VP of CRIF, the umbrella group of France's 74 Jewish Organizations, to discuss the French judicial system, which recently ruled that Kobil Treore, a 27 year-old Muslim man, could not be tried for the brutal murder of Sarah Halimi, a 65 year-old Jewish woman, because he was "high" on marijuana at the time of the savage attack, and could not be held criminally responsible. Yonathan educated us about the current level of antisemitism in France, and that many of their compatriots have joined with the proud Jewish community to condemn and combat anti-Semitism. French President Macron has pushed for a new law that would never again allow the courts to avoid prosecution for criminals of such heinous crimes while under "the influence" of drugs.
