Listen "482 When the World Shakes: Faithfulness in the Face of the End (Lk 21)"
Episode Synopsis
Tuesday, April 08: In this episode of The Daily Grind, John walks us through Luke 21—a chapter that begins quietly with a poor widow’s offering and ends with cosmic signs and a call to stay alert. Jesus is in the final days of His ministry, teaching in the temple while the tension around Him builds. He affirms a widow’s quiet trust as greater than the flashy gifts of the wealthy, then stuns His disciples by prophesying the destruction of the temple. From there, Jesus gives a sobering and hope-filled message about what’s to come—wars, natural disasters, persecution, and the eventual return of the Son of Man. But He tells His followers not to be afraid; instead, to see these trials as opportunities to bear witness. Faithfulness in hard times, He says, leads to life. Jesus reminds us that while heaven and earth may pass away, His words never will. He warns against distraction and spiritual laziness and urges His followers to live watchfully and prayerfully. This episode is a timely reminder that even when everything seems unstable, we can stand firm, eyes lifted, hearts ready—because redemption is drawing near.Email me your questions, comments, and suggestions.
