Tariq Ali is a political activist, journalist, historian, novelist, and filmmaker based in London. He is a longstanding member of the editorial committee of the New Left Review and has written more than two dozen books on world history and politics, most recently Uprising in Pakistan: How to Bring Down a Dictatorship (Verso, 2018) and The Forty-Year War in Afghanistan: A Chronicle Foretold (Verso, 2021).
