Guest:Dr. Tony Carino, MD is a Street Psychiatrist in the Bronx where he provides psychiatric care to people experiencing homelessness. Dr. Carino is the Director of Psychiatry at Janian Medical Care and leads a team of 46 psychiatric practitioners who care for people experiencing homelessness at 86 NYC programs. Dr. Carino is on faculty at Columbia University Public Psychiatry Fellowship and teaches as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has served on the Board of Directors at the American Association of Community Psychiatry. Dr. Carino previously worked as the Associate Medical Director at Pathways to Housing. He completed his psychiatric and medical training at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, Albert Einstein Montefiore Medical Center and Loyola University Medical Center.Host:Rob Gadomski, DO is the Deputy Medical Director of Psychiatric Services at Project Renewal, Inc and a graduate of the Columbia Public Psychiatry Fellowship. He works primarily with homeless and marginalized individuals in the New York City area. He went to the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school and completed his psychiatry residency training at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia before moving to NYC, where he gathered an interest in working with homeless populations and individuals interacting with the criminal legal system.Podcast editor: Mike Zhang is a third year medical student. He was drawn to community psychiatry because it bridges clinical care with public health and social support, allowing him to work directly with underserved populations.
