As a coach, it is your responsibility to remain present during a coaching session; keep your focus on your client. The power of effective questioning lies within you; and if you are too preoccupied with what to ask next, you may miss opportunities to ask the right questions. While it is helpful to have a plan and intentionality in guiding the session toward the client’s goals, don’t be afraid to let your client lead you in determining what would serve their needs best at that time. Ultimately, the questions you ask can open your client to potential change and new perspectives.
