Listen "Your Best Speech Ever! Organize Your Speech or Interview in These Three Sections"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode you’ll quickly see how fewer words, main points and slides can reduce your anxiety and improve your confidence. Meet Kristen--a sensory scientist who regularly presents testing and research findings. I'm teaching Kristen the basics in organizing a speech across three topical areas.
This episode jumps in on her 1:1 session, with Kristen's first attempt at my Box Talk technique --which she called "a dumpster fire!" Lol. Kristen wanted to organize her thoughts so she could improve her delivery, self-confidence and credibility. In under an hour, Box Talk and my stackable approach helped her narrow her ideas, work from fewer notes, and appear confident while presenting. Longterm, I would work with Kristen on organization, hedging techniques and controlling the conversation so won’t do or say too much! She already has an inviting personality and a great speaking voice. Narrowing her points so that she can trust what she already knows about the subject matter--versus overwhelming herself with data no one needs–will help her be more credible and confident.
Kristen’s laughter throughout this session is proof that representing your brand on- and off-camera can be painless! This is how public speaking and interview skills can support your professional goals.
