He has a passionate and clear understanding of the Faith and he lives that in his actions, insights, and missionary work off the course. We talk about his choice of the moniker, "Papal Ninja", how the Church lacks in forming men today, and what Sean and his apostolate, Lay Mission Project, are doing to fill that void.

Sean Bryan is most known for his participation in the hit TV show American Ninja Warrior, where he has taken on the identity of the "Papal Ninja," stealthily taking on his role in the mission of the Church to evangelize the world. Sean received his Bachelor’s of Arts at UC Berkeley, where he studied physics and was on the men’s gymnastics team. He completed his Master of Arts in Theology with a Salesian Studies concentration at the Dominican School of Philosophy & Theology. His Masters thesis analyzed the ecclesiology inherent to documents of the Second Vatican Council, and proposes the Scriptural notion of liturgy as an interpretive lens that elucidates the relationship between formal ritual worship and its integrated expression in everyday life. His exploration led to practical applications geared toward the animation of the faithful in the Church’s mission, including the Lay Mission Project: an in-depth disciple-community formation experience that enables the laity to live the faith in their daily lives, foster strong relationships, and transform your world. In his spare time, Sean co-founded Traverse Fitness, a ninja warrior gym that trains the current, and next generation of obstacle course racers, many of whom are underprivileged kids whose memberships are discounted and subsidized through donations.
