Listen "What Should Germany Do to Bounce Back…"
Episode Synopsis
The 2022 FIFA World Cup is already heading to the business, with the round of 16 fixtures taking place. This is the second World Cup running where 2014 winners, Germany, have failed to progress out of the group stages and it looks as though a few players are now set to retire, with the likes of İlkay Gündoğan and Thomas Müller having already given hints. Stalwart Joshua Kimmich has also spoken out, however for a different reason, - The Bayern Munich star has said being ejected from this tournament was the worst day of his life and he feels as though he is heading into limbo. Head coach Hansi Flick and his post look to be secure, but how long will that last, only time will tell!
On the latest episode of the Bundesliga connection, DW Sports correspondent Kres Harrington speaks on Germany’s poor 2022 FIFA World Cup, after the 2014 Winners were knocked out of the group stages. The Bundesliga is still being represented in Qatar, with the likes of Dayot Upamecano for France, Jude Bellingham for England, and Matthijs de Ligt for the Dutch!
